Brian Paino is the Managing Member of the Irvine office and is a member of the Commercial Litigation and Consumer Financial Services Litigation Groups. He represents clients from a broad range of industries, including the energy, financial services, equipment, insurance, and real estate industries. Brian has a long track record of securing successful outcomes in state, federal, bankruptcy, appellate, and arbitration forums. His clients regularly seek his counsel on strategies for all stages of litigation.
For more than a decade, Brian has helped financial services clients navigate the ever-changing legal and regulatory landscape. He has represented these clients through all stages of litigation, including early case assessment, motion practice, e-discovery, mediation, trial, post-trial motion practice, and appeals. Brian has extensive experience with various federal and state consumer protection laws, including the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA), Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA), Servicemembers Civil Relief Act (SCRA), Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act (RESPA), Truth-in-Lending Act (TILA), California Military & Veterans Code, California Homeowner Bill of Rights, and California’s Business and Professions Code § 17200. In his practice as a commercial litigator, Brian has handled a wide range of business disputes, including claims for breach of contract, tort claims, claims for unfair competition, and claims for violations of federal and state laws.
Brian prides himself on thinking outside the box and identifying creative solutions to complex fact patterns. He is routinely consulted on complex litigation matters, including class and mass actions. He has also successfully argued cases before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit and U.S. Bankruptcy Appellate Panel for the Ninth Circuit, and routinely represents clients in bankruptcy proceedings throughout Arizona, California, and Texas.
