Mike Rubin to Lead Key Session for International Group

Baton Rouge, LA (January 8, 2008) – Michael H. Rubin, a nationally-known speaker and senior attorney in the Baton Rouge office of McGlinchey Stafford PLLC, will address more than 1,500 attendees as a keynote speaker at the International Council of Shopping Center’s annual Law Conference to be held in San Diego. The Council, a 70,000 member global trade association of the shopping center industry, consists of shopping center owners, developers, managers, marketing specialists, investors, lenders, retailers and other professionals.

Rubin’s presentation to the organization last year was so popular that the standing-room only crowd gave him a spontaneous standing ovation. His talks combine an informal style with scholarship, thought-provoking comments, and humor, as shown by the title of his keynote speech to the Council: “The Ethics of Negotiations: Are There Any?” Rubin has lectured throughout the United States and Canada on many topics, including appellate advocacy, real estate, finance and trial tactics.

Widely recognized for his work in Louisiana real estate law and finance, Rubin is the immediate past-president of the American College of Real Estate Lawyers. He has also served as president of the Louisiana State Bar Association, the Southern Conference of Bar Presidents and the U.S. Fifth Circuit Bar Association. His numerous law review articles and publications on real estate and finance have been cited as authoritative by state and federal courts, and his legal writings have been used in law school courses around the country.
