Rudy J. Cerone was a member of a panel which a discussed The Roller Coaster in Bankruptcy as Opposed to the Roller Coaster of Bankruptcy at a meeting of the Fifth Circuit Fellows of the American College of Bankruptcy. John H. Clegg was quoted in the “Philadelphia Inquirer” in an article entitled “Mold Is a Growing Issue for Real Estate Agents, Insurance Companies.” Katherine Conklin spoke on Key 401(k) Distribution and Withdrawal Issues and ERISAand DOL Requirements: Administrative Forms and Disclosures to Participants at a seminar entitled “Nuts and Bolts of 401(k) Plans” sponsored by Lorman Educational Services. She also addressed the Bayou Chapter of the Society for Human Resource Managers on HIPAA Privacy from an Employer’s Perspective. Gene Creely II served on a panel at the Texas Insurance Law Symposium hosted by South Texas College of Law which discussed Corporate Turmoil and Insurance Solutions: Insured Insolvency, D & O Coverage, and Related Issues. Michael D. Ferachi was selected by the Baton Rouge Bar Association to serve as a representative in the American Bar Association’s House of Delegates. Mary Terrell Joseph spoke at a seminar on Collection Law, conducted by Lorman Educational Services, on the topic Getting a Judgment and Collecting the Judgment. Errol J. King served as co-moderator of a meeting sponsored by the Louisiana Business Group on Health entitled PPO/Employer Summit. E. Fredrick Preis, Jr. presented a seminar on The Uniformed Service Employment and Reemployment Rights Act of 1994 (USERRA) to members of the Greater New Orleans Hotel-Motel Association. Kenneth A. Weiss, an adjunct professor of federal gift and estate taxation law at both LSU and Tulane Universities, has co-authored an article on Louisiana’s new Independent Executor Law to be published in the LSU “Louisiana Law Review” this spring. He recently delivered an address on Independent Administration of Estates in Louisiana to the Baton Rouge Business and Estate Planning Council. Barbara Friedman Yaksic has been appointed Chair of the Cleveland Bar Association’s Judicial Selection Committee.
