Rodolfo "Rudy" J. Aguilar, Jr. is a member in the firm's Baton Rouge office and managing member of the firm. He maintains a corporate, business, insurance regulatory and commercial litigation practice.
Rudy routinely handles corporate transactions, commercial financing transactions, transactions relating to real estate development and general business matters. He also represents various physician groups and organizations in their internal corporate structure, joint ventures and health care related matters.
His experience also includes representing various individuals and entities in the acquisition and formation of health, property, casualty and life insurance companies. Additionally, he represents insurers in various regulatory, corporate and financial matters.
A member of Order of the Coif, Phi Kappa Phi and was on the Louisiana Law Review from 1981-1982, Rudy has lectured on buying and selling businesses.
Litigation
Rudy handles commercial contractual disputes, securities claims and general commercial litigation in state and federal trial courts and appellate courts including the Louisiana Supreme Court and the United States Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals.
Business
During his counsel to developers and owners, Rudy handles the negotiation, documentation, acquisition, financing and management of various mixed use developments including hotel, retail and condominium developments.
In connection with those developments, Rudy has negotiated management and operating agreements for Ritz Carlton hotels, Marriott hotels and Radisson hotels. He also represents developers of mixed-use developments in Florida, including the development of high rise condominium projects in Destin and Panama City, Florida.
For developers of various apartment complexes, Rudy represents these clients in the acquisition, construction, financing and management of their projects which have received the benefit of Internal Revenue Code Section 42 tax credits, affordable housing developments.
