Mark S. Edelman is the managing member of the firm's Cleveland office, practicing in the area of consumer financial services.
Consumer Financial Services
His practice includes the representation of banks, finance companies, mortgage companies and savings and loans, advising them on regulatory compliance for consumer loan documentation, e-commerce, underwriting, acquisitions and divestitures, warehouse and other commercial financing, insurance and structured finance.
Mark serves as outside counsel to Wolters Kluwer Financial Service’s CompliSource, an on-line regulatory compliance tool covering consumer finance products in all fifty states. Mark is a frequent speaker at national programs on consumer finance topics.
Personal Property Finance
Mark focuses on multi-state compliance, business planning and risk management for personal property financing, with a particular emphasis on motor vehicle financing and leasing.
Representative Transactions
- Restructured entire consumer financial services documentation used at national captive finance company and created a 50-state open-end credit product
- Assisted in establishing all processes and documentation for a start-up national mortgage lending business
- Reviewed and assisted in the implementation of a national on-line complex proprietary compliance and documentation system for buy here/pay here franchised used car sales and financing program
- Assisted with national product implementation, development, and sales for an on-line database.
