McGlinchey Stafford’s Camille Bryant receives Outstanding Young Woman Lawyer of the Year, A.P. Tureaud Awards
Read Time: 1 minMcGlinchey Stafford proudly announces that Associate Camille Bryant was named 2019 Outstanding Young Lawyer by the National Bar Association’s Women Lawyers Division. Camille will also receive the 2019 A.P. Tureaud Award from the Greater New Orleans Louis A. Martinet Society.
Camille was presented the Outstanding Young Lawyer award during the Women Lawyers Division’s 2019 Achievement Awards Breakfast, which took place during the National Bar Association’s 94th Annual Convention in New York City on July 23. Camille was selected out of six national finalists for the award, which recognizes the achievement of young women lawyers to the legal profession as exemplified by professional excellence, service to the profession, and service to the community.
Camille will be honored with the A.P. Tureaud Award by the Greater New Orleans Louis A. Martinet Society, given to a member who has been very active in local/state bar associations, at the Society’s 2019 Annual Scholarship and Jazz Brunch Gala on September 14. She is McGlinchey Stafford’s first attorney to receive this distinction.
According to the Martinet Society’s website, “Camille Bryant embodies the A.P. Tureaud Award by actively participating in several local bar associations. In addition to serving as treasurer for the Martinet Society and Martinet Foundation, Ms. Bryant has chaired New Orleans Bar Association – Young Lawyers Committee’s Public Service Committee and serves as the current President of the New Orleans Association of Women Attorneys.”

The National Bar Association was founded in 1925 and is the nation’s oldest and largest national network of predominantly African-American attorneys and judges. It represents the interests of approximately 65,000 lawyers, judges, law professors and law students. The Women Lawyers Division (WLD) of the National Bar Association was established in 1972 as a vehicle for women in the practice of law to address the issues and problems that particularly affect, interest, and concern African American women.
The Martinet Society was established in 1957 to encourage interchange the of ideas, promote legal scholarship, advance the science of jurisprudence, promote the administration of justice, uphold the order and ethics of the courts and the profession of law and promote the welfare of the legal profession in Louisiana.
In 2019, Camille was also McGlinchey Stafford’s first attorney to be selected for the Pathfinder program (which provides diverse, high-potential, early-career attorneys with leadership and career development skills as well as professional networking) by the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity. Her other honors include being named a “Rising Star” in Louisiana Super Lawyers for 2018-2019, and being listed in New Orleans CityBusiness “Ones to Watch” in 2016.
In addition to her robust labor and employment and products liability practices, as well as the positions listed above, Camille serves as Treasurer and Executive Committee Member for the Greater New Orleans Chapter of the Louis A. Martinet Legal Society, Inc.; Louisiana State Membership Chair for the Defense Research Institute (DRI); and on the New Orleans Bar Association’s Minorities in the Profession Committee. She is also a member of the Louisiana State Bar Association, Women’s Professional Council, National Employment Law Council, and the local and national chapters of the Society of Human Resources Management.
Active in the community, Camille is a volunteer with the Legal Help for the Homeless – HELP Program and Habitat for Humanity. She was a 2016 class member of Emerging Philanthropists of New Orleans and is a member of Junior League of New Orleans and Alpha Beta Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.
