Community
Our personnel aren’t just lawyers or administrative staff in a law firm—they are teachers, role models, and good citizens actively engaged in both the legal profession and the communities we serve.
We are proud of our involvement in numerous professional and civic organizations. In addition to leadership and financial support, our commitment to our communities includes pro bono service.
We support numerous philanthropic causes of interest to firm members throughout all our offices. We annually sponsor many community and business-related organizations and non-profits to support our community volunteers in their endeavors, to give back to our local communities, and to provide targeted donations when clients ask for us to support non-profits with them as a partner.
During the holiday season, when need is often at its greatest, we seek to make a significant impact and express our appreciation of clients with a major charitable donation. Our gift tradition of charitable holiday giving is warmly welcomed by clients who share our commitment to improving lives in need. Recent recipients of McGlinchey’s holiday donations include:
- ALS Association
- American Lung Association
- City Year
- CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates)
- Feeding America
- Teach for America
- Boys & Girls Club
Pro Bono
Our commitment to our communities includes a commitment to pro bono service, which is a core value of the firm. Individual lawyers are encouraged to identify appropriate opportunities in which individuals and groups might participate and provide pro bono representation that supports and impacts the communities in which our clients live and work.
We provide up to 50 hours of billing credit to our attorneys who work on pro bono matters and have committed to the representation of multiple criminal defendants due to the lack of funding for public defenders. Our lawyers also regularly provide legal assistance to the homeless through local organizations.
