1L Scholarship Program
McGlinchey’s 1L Scholarship represents our firm’s long-term commitment to creating and maintaining an inclusive workplace and to promoting equity within the legal profession. From our inception, we challenged the status quo and earned a reputation as a progressive, merit-based business that rewards individual achievement and potential. Our 1L Scholarship is just one aspect of our commitment to attracting, mentoring, developing, and promoting attorneys from a diverse background of experiences and starts at the beginning of a lawyer’s career – the first year of law school.
Beginning December 1, 2022, we welcome first-year law students to apply for our 2023 1L Scholarship.
Recipients will receive paid summer clerkships in our Boston, Cleveland, or Washington, DC offices. You will also be eligible for consideration of a 2L clerkship.
1L Scholars will have the opportunity to attend the 2023 1L Leadership Council On Legal Diversity (LCLD) Scholars Virtual Summit, May 23–25, 2023. The summit features an innovative curriculum developed exclusively for LCLD that focuses on leadership, relationship building, and career development strategies.
A $5,000 scholarship to assist with the costs of books, tuition, or other law school expenses will be distributed to your law school at the beginning of the fall 2023 semester.
We are dedicated to giving our summer associates the opportunity for future permanent hire. We demonstrate this commitment by partnering two attorneys with each summer associate in a formal mentorship program and providing a mentor throughout your law school career.
