Chauvin, Ex-Officers Face Civil Rights Charges Over Floyd
Read Time: 1 minWashington Member and Co-Chair of the Government and Internal Investigations practice group Bob Driscoll was quoted in an article on Law360 discussing the structure of civil rights charges against the officers responsible for George Floyd’s death.
Bob is former chief of staff of the DOJ’s Civil Rights Division during the George W. Bush administration.
“Intent is a huge factor in federal civil rights charges,” Driscoll said. “There are plenty of things you can do that are bad decisions, that are bad police work, but that are not criminal from a federal civil rights perspective.”
