Christine Lipsey Joins McGlinchey Stafford
Read Time: 1 minMcGlinchey Stafford, a national commercial litigation law firm, announced today the addition of Christine Lipsey to the commercial litigation team in Baton Rouge. Lipsey joins the firm as a member and brings more than 20 years of experience in litigation representing small and large businesses, insurance companies, state agencies, lenders and corporate shareholders.
“We are delighted to welcome Christine to our firm,” said Managing Partner Rudy Aguilar. “She brings significant regional and national experience to our commercial litigation group, and will greatly enhance our ability to meet the growing needs of our clients.”
Lipsey is widely recognized throughout the state and region as a leader in commercial litigation. One of her many notable accomplishments includes the representation of a major insurance company in the first case before the Louisiana Supreme Court to review whether the Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA) preempted Louisiana’s own statute. Lipsey’s arguments compelled the court to review in favor of the insurance company, and the United States Supreme Court confirmed the decision by denying review. She also has had significant success defending clients in class actions, breach of contracts and corporate fiduciary legal disputes.
Lipsey has published and presented on a number of business litigation topics including the Do-Not-Call Implementation Act, E-discovery, and HIPAA. She hails from Louisiana State University’s Paul M. Herbert Law Center.
