Consumer Finance Compliance Attorney Amy Castell Joins McGlinchey
Read Time: 2 minsMcGlinchey Stafford is excited to announce that Amy L. Castell has joined the firm as Of Counsel in the firm’s Financial Institutions Compliance practice group, resident in Dallas.
“We are thrilled to welcome Amy to McGlinchey Stafford,” said Mark Edelman, Chair of the nationwide Financial Institutions Compliance practice. “Having worn many legal and compliance hats including General Counsel of a large auto finance company, her significant exposure to state and CFPB examinations, involvement with transactional negotiations, and insight into overall operations position Amy to effectively advise our consumer finance clients on an array of matters.”
A seasoned veteran of the consumer finance field, Amy most recently served as General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer for United Auto Credit Company. In this role, she supervised all legal operations, which included everything from navigating complex regulatory environments, managing multi-state licensing programs, and overseeing dynamic privacy platforms to general operations, corporate governance, compliance, and transactions. Specifically, she has handled successful supervisory examinations and regulatory investigations, the sale and acquisition of a company, contract and vendor management, due diligence, and has been directly involved with warehouse facilities and securitization transactions.

Amy has diverse legal experience spanning in-house and private practice as well as outside counsel. Her background includes consumer and commercial litigation as well as real estate, contractual work, collections, and debt buying.

Amy was recognized by Auto Finance Journal as a “Women in Auto Finance” honoree in 2021. She holds a J.D. from the Western Michigan University Cooley Law School and a B.A. Government and Sociology from the University of Texas at Austin. She is a member of the American Financial Services Association (AFSA)’s Legal and Vehicle Finance committees. She is licensed to practice in California and Texas.
