Financial Services, Real Estate Litigator Rhiannon Funke joins McGlinchey in Seattle
Read Time: 2 minsMcGlinchey Stafford is pleased to announce Rhiannon D. Funke has joined the firm’s Financial Services Litigation team in Seattle office as Of Counsel. With two decades of litigation experience, she brings a deep familiarity with the intersection of real estate and financial services law to the firm’s national platform.
“Rhia’s practice combining the consumer protection and creditors rights issues inherit in financial services and bankruptcy law with the particularities of landlord/tenant and commercial property issues at play in Washington and Florida make her an exceptional addition to our national team,” said Shaun Ramey, Chair of McGlinchey’s Financial Services Litigation practice.
Rhia’s practice encompasses a wide range of legal areas with clientele ranging from major banks, mortgage lenders, brokers, servicers, and hard money lenders to landlords and property managers. She represents clients in state, federal, bankruptcy, and appellate courts in matters involving commercial real estate transactions, property partitions, evictions, and foreclosures. Rhia also has a strong track record in securities defense, regulatory matters, and FINRA arbitrations.
Prior to joining McGlinchey, Rhia managed her own law firm, where she served a diverse base of long-term clients on a national basis. Her hands-on experience as a solo practitioner and her background as a paralegal before attending law school have equipped her with a comprehensive understanding of client needs and case management.
Following law school, Rhia clerked for the Second District Court of Appeal in Lakeland, Florida. She also co-authored the Foreclosure chapter in the “Washington Real Estate Litigation” LexisNexis Practice Guide for both 2019 and 2020 editions.
Rhia holds a J.D. from Stetson University College of Law, a B.A. in Philosophy, cum laude, from the University of Montana, and a B.S. in Journalism – Telecommunications – Operations & Planning from the University of Florida. She is admitted to practice law in both Washington and Florida.
