Former U.S. Attorney Brandon B. Brown Joins McGlinchey in Louisiana

Brown, former United States Attorney for the Western District of Louisiana, has joined the firm as a Member (Partner) affiliated with the Baton Rouge office. Residing in the Shreveport area, Brandon brings to the firm a deep-rooted understanding of Louisiana’s broad legal landscape paired with an unparalleled national perspective.
In his most recent role as chief federal law enforcement officer for the Western District of Louisiana, Brandon oversaw matters involving public corruption, financial and healthcare fraud, whistleblower actions, civil rights violations, violent crime, organized crime, and others in 42 of the state’s 64 parishes. His purview spanned key regions of Louisiana from Shreveport, Monroe, and Alexandria to Lafayette and Lake Charles. Notably, Brandon was one of 13 U.S. Attorneys appointed to the Attorney General’s Advisory Committee (AGAC), a select group tasked with advising the Attorney General and Department of Justice on policy.

At McGlinchey, Brandon will lead the firm’s Government and Internal Investigations team and will advise businesses and individuals in government investigations and white collar matters. He also will counsel federal, state, and private companies in labor and employment investigations and litigation and represent public and private employers and insurers in actions brought by employees and unions. Focusing on investigations, crisis management, and enforcement actions across Louisiana, Texas, and Washington, DC, Brandon represents clients in government, education, banking, healthcare, and various other industries.

Prior to being confirmed as U.S. Attorney, Brandon served for nearly 9 years as an Assistant United States Attorney in the Western District of Louisiana after launching his career as an Assistant District Attorney for Ouachita Parish. His prosecutorial and trial experience spans state and federal courts.
Brandon is a current member of the Supreme Court of Louisiana’s Mandatory Continuing Legal Education Committee, the Federal Bar Association, Shreveport Bar Association, and Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. He holds a J.D. from the Southern University Law Center, which recognized him as a Distinguished Alumni Award recipient in 2022. He also earned a Master of Business Administration and Bachelor of Science from Louisiana Tech University, and has received numerous Trailblazer and Community Service honors across his career.
