Honored Again: McGlinchey’s Two Louisiana Offices Named “Best Places to Work”
Read Time: 2 minsMcGlinchey Stafford is pleased to announce that, for the second year in a row, its Baton Rouge and New Orleans offices have each been named among the “Best Places to Work.” This is the fourth consecutive year the New Orleans office has earned this title from New Orleans CityBusiness, and the second for the Baton Rouge office from Baton Rouge Business Report. Both recognitions are based on independent surveys of the offices’ employees.
“We are in growth mode here at McGlinchey, and we know that the first step in growing your team is making sure the team you already have is supported and effective,” said Michael Ferachi, McGlinchey’s Managing Member, resident in Baton Rouge. “We put a premium on our culture because we want everyone positioned to bring their A-game in service of solving our clients’ problems.”
This summer, McGlinchey’s New Orleans office led fundraising efforts at the 13th Annual Food from the Bar Campaign, put on by the New Orleans Chapter of the Association for Women Attorneys (NOAWA). Over the course of the competition, McGlinchey raised $11,467 for Second Harvest Food Bank, which amounted to more than a quarter of the overall funds raised. The firm was also recognized for the first time for its “Empowering Women” efforts, both in New Orleans (also by CityBusiness) and Boston (by Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly).
“Since I became Managing Member of the New Orleans office, my goal has been to make sure our office feels like a place our people want to spend their time,” said Magdalen Blessey Bickford. “I take immense pride in these recognitions that affirm our choice to invest the time and energy into doing that well.”
Last week, McGlinchey announced plans for its Baton Rouge office to move into the newly renovated II Rivermark Centre downtown in June 2025. Earlier this month, McGlinchey announced the opening of its newest office in Tampa. Since the beginning of 2023, the firm has grown or expanded its operations in Boston, Seattle, and Nashville.
“We try to be intentional here about everything, from the language we use to the policies we implement,” said Zelma Murray Frederick, Managing Member of the Baton Rouge office. “Knowing that the people around me feel valued goes a long way toward helping me provide the best legal services I can. It’s important to me to continue nurturing a culture where we all thrive.”
McGlinchey’s workplace culture was also recognized alongside some of the largest law firms in the country among Vault’s 2025 rankings for Diversity in Law Firms, based on input from the firm’s Associates, including #26 in Overall Diversity, #16 in Quality of Life (Associate/Partner relations), #17 in Diversity for those with Disabilities, and #30 in Racial & Ethnic Diversity. The firm was also ranked in two categories in The American Lawyer’s 2024 Diversity Scorecards: #37 on the Women in Law scorecard and #178 on the LGBTQ+ scorecard. The firm was one of the first 100 nationally to complete the Midsize Mansfield Certification, demonstrating McGlinchey’s commitment to nurturing a welcoming, supportive workplace where each employee is empowered to do their best work and grow in their careers.
Founded in 1974, McGlinchey’s New Orleans office is home to 120 attorneys, business personnel, and administrative professionals. McGlinchey’s Baton Rouge office was its second (of 18) and remains the second-largest, with 44 employees. These two offices house the core of the firm’s business operations, including human resources and benefits, recruiting and talent acquisition, marketing and business development, IT and training, accounting, library services, and many members of the Senior Administration team.
