On Tuesday, February 6, Member Marc Lifset (Albany) presented a Fannie Mae webinar titled “Introduction to Legal Issues around Manufactured Housing Mortgage Lending.” With the continuous improvement in build quality and variety offered by the manufactured housing industry, many are looking to manufactured homes as a potential solution to the shortage in affordable housing inventory. Marc reviewed the federal statutes and regulations that govern manufactured home construction and installation. He also covered investor requirements, unique appraisal requirements and titling and lien perfection methods, unique manufactured home loan documents, and lien perfection case studies.
