The reorganization… could be revised or even abandoned under the Biden administration, some lawyers say. Like an Etch-a-Sketch, “you shake it and everything disappears,” says Brian Fink, a lawyer at McGlinchey Stafford and former program manager in the CFPB’s office of supervision policy.

The bureau has moved to have the case dismissed, saying the plaintiffs lack standing. A new director, Fink says, could “open this up for other opinions,” including those representing consumers’ interests.
