Kristi W. Richard Recognized as Influential Woman in Business
Read Time: 2 minsMcGlinchey Stafford is pleased to announce that Kristi W. Richard has been honored among the nine women on the 2025 Influential Women in Business list by the Baton Rouge Business Report.
“Kristi is a trailblazer in the law, in business, and across our community, and I’m honored to congratulate her for this deserved recognition,” said Zelma Murray Frederick, Managing Member of McGlinchey’s Baton Rouge office (and 2023 Influential Women in Business honoree). “She has made an indelible impact, particularly for students, women, and young lawyers, through her work in the legal profession, corporate law, and social justice initiatives.”
Kristi’s community leadership is diverse and extensive. Most recently, she was named “Audience Favorite” for her performance in the 2024 Dancing with Big Buddy competition, personally raising nearly $20,000 for the programs’ mission to support under-resourced youth with mentoring, academic and social support. She currently serves as Secretary on the Board of the Greater Baton Rouge YWCA and as chair of the legal ad hoc committee of the Junior League of Baton Rouge. She has served in various positions for the Louisiana State Bar Association, including as Wills for Heroes Co-Chair, Young Lawyers Division Representative, and on the Awards Committee. She has also worked with the Friends of Friends of LSU AgCenter Botanic Gardens/ Burden Museum, Susan G. Komen Baton Rouge, St. Aloysius Social Responsibility Commission, Council for a Better Louisiana’s Leadership Louisiana (2019), and Baton Rouge Area Chamber’s Leadership Baton Rouge (2015).
Kristi is a Member (Partner) in the firm’s Baton Rouge office and co-chair of Uplift, McGlinchey’s Women’s Initiative. She advises clients across the U.S. in the areas of insurance regulation and compliance and corporate and transactional matters. She is ranked by Chambers USA’s Louisiana Corporate/M&A list, Best Lawyers’ Insurance Law list, and was recognized as a “Rising Star” by Louisiana Super Lawyers for her work in corporate law. Kristi is the Vice-Chair of Loan Documentation for the American Bar Association’s Commercial Finance Committee.
In addition to her legal practice, Kristi has taught in the LSU E.J. Ourso College of Business for 12 years, including as a full-time professor since 2023.
