McGlinchey Announces Hire of Compliance Attorney Katherine Schnack
Read Time: 1 minMcGlinchey is pleased to announce that seasoned regulatory attorney Katherine Romano Schnack has joined the firm’s Financial Institutions Compliance practice group as Of Counsel, associated with the Cleveland office.
“We are very excited to have Katherine join the McGlinchey team,” said Mark Edelman, chair of McGlinchey’s national Financial Institutions Compliance practice group. “Her varied experience ranging from credit unions and payments processing to regulatory work will bring a unique and valuable perspective to the practice group and our clients.”
Prior to joining McGlinchey, Katherine served as the VP of Legal for a credit union service organization. She also worked for the Federal Trade Commission, where she litigated federal district court actions and investigated potential unlawful trade practices.
“I’ve seen McGlinchey attorneys present at various conferences, and I was always impressed with their knowledge and expertise in consumer financial services,” said Katherine. “I wanted to work for a firm that specializes in this area of law, but also had a warm culture. I found both of those at McGlinchey.”
Katherine earned her J.D., cum laude, from Harvard Law School, where she served as Vice President of the of the Board of Student Advisors. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Classics, magna cum laude, from New York University, where she was Valedictorian of the College of Arts and Science.
Katherine is one of three experienced financial services compliance attorneys hired by McGlinchey in August, including David Tallman in Texas and Ben Gross in California, who both joined as Members.
McGlinchey’s Financial Institutions Compliance team has on-boarded seven new attorney hires in 2022.
