McGlinchey Attorney Helen Mosothoane to Co-Chair NAWL’s D&I CommitteeRead Time: 2 mins
McGlinchey is proud to announce that Helen Mosothoane, Counsel in McGlinchey’s Dallas office, has been named Co-Chair of the National Association of Women Lawyers (NAWL)’s Diversity and Inclusion Committee. A longtime advocate for equity for groups historically underrepresented in the legal profession, Helen also serves as a member of McGlinchey PRIDE, the firm’s LGBTQ+ Resource Group.
“I’m proud and honored to serve in this important role for an organization that has been working to support women attorneys since 1899,” Helen said. “I’m excited to contribute to NAWL’s efforts to ensure that the legal profession better reflects the extensive diversity of our country. Driving inclusion within a progressive and diverse organization is a commitment I take very seriously.”
For more than 120 years, NAWL has worked to advance women in the legal profession and advocate for the equality of women under the law by offering leadership, a collective voice, and essential resources to support the advancement of women in the legal profession. NAWL provides amicus support in the Supreme Court of the United States and other federal courts on issues of concern to women, offers national and regional leadership and business skills programming, and provides national networking and leadership opportunities.
“We are proud to have Helen represent McGlinchey in this capacity,” said Eliska Plunkett, Chief Diversity and Inclusion Officer and Human Resources Director. “The firm is committed to driving the legal profession and the state of the law ever forward, as evidenced by our #McGlincheyForward values. NAWL’s mission of cultivating the collective success of women in law is one we’re dedicated to upholding.”
An accomplished litigator with more than 15 years in practice, Helen defends businesses and financial institutions in litigation related to alleged violations of a broad range of consumer finance regulations, including the Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act (RESPA), the Texas Deceptive Trade Practices Act (DTPA), the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), and other related federal and state statutes. Helen is licensed in Texas and California.
McGlinchey attorneys Camille Bryant, Mikelle Bliss, and Zelma Murray Frederick are also involved with NAWL, in addition to numerous other firm attorneys involved in regional, state, and local women’s attorney groups. Camille Bryant was listed on NAWL’s 2022 “Rising List,” which recognizes lawyers advancing in their careers, helping others advance in their careers, and fighting to advance women under the law.
