McGlinchey Attorney Sarah Edwards named 2020 Leadership Council on Legal Diversity Pathfinder
McGlinchey Stafford PLLC is pleased to announce Sarah Edwards has been selected to participate in the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity (LCLD)’s Pathfinders program for diverse, high-potential, early career attorneys.
Edwards is an Associate in McGlinchey’s New Orleans office, providing regulatory compliance and risk management advice to consumer financial services companies, with a particular focus on new and innovative financial products. Sarah was named a 2019-2020 Louisiana Super Lawyers “Rising Star” (Banking, Business Litigation, and Bankruptcy: Business), and to New Orleans CityBusiness‘ “Ones to Watch” 2019. She is involved with various bar and industry associations, including the American Bar Association’s Consumer Financial Services Committee and the Online Lenders Alliance. Sarah is McGlinchey’s second participant in LCLD’s Pathfinder program. Camille Bryant (New Orleans) participated in the program in 2019.
“We are proud Sarah will represent McGlinchey as an LCLD Pathfinder and we are delighted to select her for this year’s program,” said Deirdre McGlinchey, head of McGlinchey’s Diversity Committee. “Sarah is an excellent attorney who upholds LCLD’s values with her professionalism and commitment to advancing our field.”
“We congratulate Sarah on being named to this prestigious program. We know that any group is made stronger with input from a cross-representation of its public. Through our involvement with and support of LCLD, McGlinchey is proud to champion initiatives that aim to improve diversity outcomes in the legal profession,” said Rudy Aguilar, Managing Member of McGlinchey.
According to LCLD President Robert J. Grey, Jr., the LCLD Pathfinder Program offers participants “intensive in-person training, online experiential learning, and opportunities to network with peers and esteemed LCLD Fellows in small group gatherings.”
In 2019, the LCLD recognized McGlinchey as a 2019 Law Firm Top Performer and 2019 Compass Award winner. From the firm’s inception, McGlinchey has challenged the status quo and earned a reputation as a progressive, merit-based business that rewards individual achievement and potential. In addition to active LCLD membership, McGlinchey actively supports the Louis A. Martinet Legal Society and Association of Women Attorneys, among other organizations, as well as our own Diversity Committee, Women’s Initiative Network, African American Affinity Group, Asian Affinity Group, Hispanic Affinity Group, and LGBTQ Affinity Group. The firm also offers an annual Diversity Fellowship to a first-year law student, which includes a $5,000 scholarship, a paid Summer Associate position, and formal mentorship from McGlinchey attorneys throughout the student’s law school career.
