McGlinchey Hires Associate Jonathan Smith in Dallas
Read Time: 1 minMcGlinchey Stafford is pleased to announce that litigator Jonathan C. Smith has joined the Financial Services Litigation team as an Associate in the Dallas office. He represents clients in matters related to consumer lending liability, including auto and mortgage lending, as well as real estate and creditors’ rights issues.
“Jonathan’s background spanning consumer lending, creditors’ rights, and real estate law makes him an asset to our bench of litigators here in Dallas,” said Dwayne Danner, Managing Member of McGlinchey’s Dallas office.
With a decade of experience with Texas’s unique homestead and property rights as well as federal regulatory regimes, Jonathan navigates lending, servicing, title, and collections matters in state and federal courts. This includes defending claims brought under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA), Texas Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (TDCA), Truth-In Lending Act (TILA), Servicemembers Civil Relief Act (SCRA), as well as complaints filed with the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) and analogous state entities.
“We are glad to bring on an attorney with Jonathan’s depth of knowledge in consumer finance law,” said Shaun Ramey, Chair of the national Financial Services Litigation team. “His industry knowledge and litigation acumen will benefit our clients on a national scale.” Jonathan is one of 16 new attorneys hired in the Financial Services Litigation team in 2025.
During law school, Jonathan externed with the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) of Arkansas and was a member of Law Review. Licensed to practice in Texas, he earned a J.D. from William H. Bowen School of Law, a B.A. in Sociology from the University of Central Arkansas, and an A.A. degree in General Education from Arkansas State University Mountain Home.
