McGlinchey Stafford PLLC is pleased to announce the firm’s Intellectual Property team has been recognized in the latest edition of Managing Intellectual Property magazine’s 2021 IP Stars ranking. The firm maintains its ranking as “Highly Recommended in Louisiana,” which it has held since 2013.
In addition to recognizing the firm’s entire IP practice team, IP Stars recognized Baton Rouge Office Managing Attorney and team leader of the firm’s Intellectual Property practice group Drew Patty as a Patent Star and Trademark Star in Louisiana. Attorney Chris Nichols is ranked as a 2021 Notable Practitioner in Louisiana.

Drew formulates and prosecutes U.S. and international patent and trademark applications; conducts IP due diligence in M&A and financial transactions; obtains U.S. copyright registrations for a wide variation of works of art and authorship; negotiates patent, trademark, and software licenses and joint development agreements; and negotiates and prepares software development agreements and cloud services agreements. His litigation experience includes plaintiff and defendant representation in trademark, patent, trade secret, and domain name disputes. In addition to the leadership positions listed above, Drew co-leads the firm’s cybersecurity and data privacy group and serves on McGlinchey’s Policy (Executive) Committee.
Chris is Of Counsel in McGlinchey’s Baton Rouge office. An intellectual property and registered U.S. patent attorney, he serves clients within a wide array of industries and technologies, with a concentration on the chemical industry and university research programs, handling both transactional and litigation matters in federal court and before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board.
