McGlinchey named “Top Performer” in Legal Diversity
Read Time: 2 minsMcGlinchey Stafford is pleased to announce it has been named a 2020 “Top Performer” by the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity (LCLD) for the third year in a row.
“As a firm, McGlinchey has always thought outside the box, seeking a better way to serve clients and to practice law since our founding in 1973. In the same spirit of advancing the practice of law, diversity and inclusion are important to us,” says Rodolfo J. “Rudy” Aguilar, Jr., Managing Member. “Diverse people come up with better solutions for problems, and we’re in the business of solving problems for our clients.”
LCLD is a growing organization of more than 320 corporate chief legal officers and law firm managing partners who are personally committed to creating a truly diverse legal profession. The Top Performer award recognizes LCLD’s most active member organizations. McGlinchey has been active with the LCLD since its founding in 2009, and is a previous recipient of the LCLD’s highest recognition, the Compass Award.
A McGlinchey attorney has participated in the LCLD Fellows program, which aims to identify, train, and advance the next generation of leaders in the legal profession, every year since 2010, and the firm has had two attorneys participate in the LCLD Pathfinders program for diverse, high-potential, early-career attorneys at LCLD Member organizations. Member Kelly Lipinski (Cleveland) serves on the LCLD Fellows Alumni Executive Council and was 2019-2020 Chair for the Fellows Alumni Leadership Symposium. Member Dhruv Sharma (Irvine) is the firm’s 2020 LCLD Fellow, and Associate Sarah Edwards (New Orleans) is participating in the 2020 Pathfinders program.
Since 2012, McGlinchey has also offered an annual 1L Fellowship through the LCLD Scholars program to a first-year law student, which includes a $5,000 scholarship, a paid Summer Associate position, and formal mentorship from McGlinchey attorneys throughout the student’s law school career. The firm’s 2021 1L Diversity Fellowship is now open to first-year law students for applications through January 22, 2021. The recipient will receive a paid summer clerkship in McGlinchey’s Cleveland, New Orleans, or Washington, DC office. (Learn more here.)
