McGlinchey Stafford Continues Growth in Birmingham with Addition of Michael Odom
McGlinchey Stafford PLLC is pleased to announce that Michael Odom has joined the firm’s Business and Corporate Matters section in Birmingham as Of Counsel.
Odom has more than 24 years’ experience representing clients in a broad variety of real estate transactions and litigation matters. He counsels lenders in commercial loan closings, commercial foreclosure matters, problem loan remediation, negotiation of forbearance and loan modification agreements, and deficiency/recovery litigation. Odom also advises developers and builders in all deal aspects, including land use planning, contract review, and litigation, and represents title insurance companies and lenders in a range of actions. As part of his real estate litigation practice, Odom works with commercial contractors, homebuilders, and lenders, and has particular experience advising land owners whose property is being condemned through eminent domain.
“We are very excited to welcome Michael to the firm,” said Rudy Aguilar, McGlinchey Stafford’s Managing Member. “The breadth of his real estate and litigation practice will be invaluable to our clients, both in Alabama and nationwide.”
In addition to his real estate and commercial litigation practices, Odom is active in alternative dispute resolution and mediation. He is registered on the Alabama State Court Mediation Roster and the Alabama Arbitrator Roster.
“McGlinchey Stafford provides me with a great opportunity to join a nationally recognized real estate practice and a growing group of exceptional lawyers in Birmingham,” said Odom. “I’m looking forward to building out my practice and helping the firm expand its presence in Alabama.”
Odom received his J.D. from Samford University, Cumberland School of Law in 1994, and his B.A. (Philosophy) from the University of the South in 1991. In 2018, he was named “Lawyer of the Year” for Litigation-Real Estate, Birmingham, by The Best Lawyers in America®.
“Michael will be a great addition to our team in Birmingham,” said Christopher A. Bottcher, who leads McGlinchey Stafford’s Birmingham office. “His real estate and litigation experience is an excellent complement to our current strengths, broadening our ability to counsel Alabama clients on the business issues they’re facing.”
McGlinchey Stafford’s Birmingham office, founded in August 2015, has grown to eight attorneys. Recently settled in a new downtown location to accommodate its expanding Alabama presence, the firm’s Birmingham attorneys focus on representing clients in the areas of tax, business transactions, financial services litigation and compliance, commercial real estate, and commercial and corporate litigation.
