McGlinchey Stafford Is Prioritizing Strategic Growth to Stay Competitive in a Demanding Market
Read Time: 2 minsLaw.com interviewed Members Michael Ferachi, Marcelle Mouledoux, and José Cot in “McGlinchey Stafford Is Prioritizing Strategic Growth to Stay Competitive in a Demanding Market,” published November 11, 2025. They each describe their approach to growth and leadership.
Midsize firms have had a lot of pressure to be bigger, Ferachi said.
“We recognize there has been a lot of consolidation … and we are mindful of that,” he said. The firm has been pleased with the success rate of its lateral hires, but it’s difficult to grow in that fashion, Ferachi said. As the firm looks at opportunities to grow, lawyers also strive to stay on their clients’ approved counsel lists, he said, which can provide more business.
“Our plan is to be on those lists,” he said.
It’s tough to identify the firm’s competition, Ferachi said, because that depends on the type of work the firm is handling for clients. For instance, Ferachi said, the firm has a large financial services practice comprising everything from regulator compliance to litigation, and some major competitors include both Big Law firms as well as others that are smaller than his firm.
Mouledoux, who joined the firm in 2022, said her goals are fostering a collaborative environment for the practice with open communication and transparency.
“It’s been a great experience and having a say in the way things work. I meet regularly with the firm leadership,” she said.
Cot, only a month into his leadership role at the firm, said he formerly had his own firm, so he knows much of what to expect with running an office. But his focus also aims to enhance the core values of the firm.
“I want everyone here to be the best they can be. I want to enable everyone to grow professionally, having an engaging, productive work environment,” he said.
