McGlinchey Stafford Member Kristi Richard Receives Louisiana State Bar Association Young Lawyers Division Award

McGlinchey Stafford LLP is pleased to announce that Kristi Richard has been honored with the 2018 Bat P. Sullivan Jr. Chair’s Award by The Louisiana State Bar Association (LSBA). The Bat P. Sullivan, Jr. Chair’s Award recipient is selected by the LSBA Young Lawyers Division’s Chair for exemplary service to the Young Lawyers Division throughout the Bar year. Richard received her award during a June 7 ceremony at the LSBA’s Annual Meeting in Florida.
Richard is a Member in the business section of McGlinchey Stafford, resident in the Baton Rouge office. She advises business clients, including small businesses, lenders, insurance companies and producers regarding general business and corporate matters, insurance regulation and compliance issues, and commercial lending. Richard also advises clients in matters of Louisiana wills, trusts and estates.
Richard is actively involved in the LSBA and currently serves as the District 5 Representative. She was chair of the Young Lawyers Professional Development Seminar in 2017 and served as chair of the Awards Committee this year. She was also co-chair of Wills for Heroes, a program that provides free legal services to first responders in preparation of basic estate planning documents, from 2014 to 2016, and was a member of the 2012–2013 Leadership LSBA Class.
The purpose of the LSBA’s Young Lawyers Division is to foster discussions and interchange of ideas relative to the duties, responsibilities and problems of the younger members of the legal profession in the State of Louisiana; to aid in their advancement; to encourage their interest and participation in the activities of the Louisiana State Bar Association, and, in general, to further the purposes and objectives of the LSBA.
