Jack and Drew Patty joined McGlinchey Stafford in 2008 when their firm, Sieberth & Patty, LLC merged with McGlinchey Stafford. Jack co-chaired the firm’s Intellectual Property practice until his retirement from the practice of law at the end of 2016. Jack began his career as a registered patent agent in 1954 while attending the Detroit College of Law (now affiliated with Michigan State University). After graduating from law school in 1956, Jack worked as an in-house patent attorney for a major chemical manufacturing company for more than 40 years. During his time as an in-house patent agent and attorney, Jack managed and trained numerous patent agents and patent attorneys who are now respected in their own right in the chemical patent field. He was an inventor on several patents and was recognized as a leader in patent law.
The attorneys and staff of McGlinchey Stafford extend our deepest condolences to Jack’s family and friends. He will be missed by everyone in the McGlinchey Stafford family.
