November 19, 2007 – National law firm McGlinchey Stafford PLLC announced today that it has signed an agreement to relocate its New Orleans office, the largest of eight, to the Pan-American Life Center, one of the premier downtown office spaces, in May 2008. McGlinchey signed a ten-year lease with California-based real estate investment firm Equastone and will completely renovate and occupy two floors in the building with an option to take over a third floor to accommodate future growth within the firm.
McGlinchey Stafford’s broker, Property One, helped the firm negotiate the ten-year lease with Equastone, which purchased the building in December 2006 in one of the city’s largest post-Katrina commercial real estate sales.
“This lease agreement marks a turning point for the New Orleans’ commercial real estate market,” said Quentin Dastugue of Property One. “We haven’t seen a lease quite this significant since before Katrina, and it is strong indication of the rebuilding of our region. McGlinchey Stafford has been one of the pillars of our community for many years, and they are demonstrating a commitment to being an important part of the city’s future.”
Gensler, an internationally recognized architecture and planning firm, has been assigned the task of planning the new office space. Milton J. Womack Inc. is the contractor building out McGlinchey’s new office space at the Center with first-class accommodations. The update is expected to take only six months.
The Pan-American Life Center spans 28-stories with more than 684,000-square feet of space, and it houses the Pan-American Life Conference and Media Center, a full-service cafeteria, sundry, barber shop, as well as a 795-vehicle public parking garage. It is also connected to the InterContinental Hotel.
