McGlinchey Stafford Welcomes Nine Summer Associates, Two LCLD Scholars

- Semaj Fielding (Baton Rouge/New Orleans, 2L, Southern University)
- Bennett Matson (New Orleans, 2L, Loyola University)
- Amber Meghani (Houston, 1L, University of Houston) – 1L LCLD Scholar
- Patrick Riley (Baton Rouge, 2L, Louisiana State University)
- Tevin Rosenthal (New Orleans, 2L, Loyola University)

“I am honored to welcome this impressive group of summer associates to the firm,” said Margeaux Roush, McGlinchey’s Director of Talent Acquisition. “I’m proud of the breadth of our summer associate program, which introduces these students to various elements of both the practice and business of law. It’s my favorite time of year and I look forward to getting to know these future attorneys.”
Eric Burgess (Baton Rouge) and Amber Meghani (Houston) will receive McGlinchey’s 1L LCLD Scholarship through the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity (LCLD). This award, bestowed annually upon first-year law students, is a distinguished honor that includes a paid summer associate position, a $5,000 scholarship, and mentoring from McGlinchey attorneys.
As 1L LCLD Scholars, Eric and Amber will have the opportunity to participate in the 2024 1L LCLD Scholars Virtual Experience, which will kick off on June 4, 2024, and run throughout the summer. The Experience offers an innovative curriculum developed exclusively for LCLD that focuses on leadership, relationship building, and career development strategies.
McGlinchey is proud that 2019 LCLD Scholar Andrew Albritton (New Orleans) is now a practicing associate with the firm, and 2022 LCLD Scholar Ian Joseph (Nashville) will join McGlinchey in the fall. Other former summer associates Farren Davis (2018), Gillian Miculek McCarroll (2021), Julia Berry-Lopez (2022), and Jessica Bozell (2022) are practicing with the firm.
Eric is enrolled at Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law. He is a recipient of the Dean’s Scholarship and a member of the Black Law Student Association. He earned a bachelor’s degree in political science from East Texas Baptist University, where he played football, served as a football captain, and won the conference’s Medal of Honor.
Nick attends the University of Notre Dame Law School. He is Managing Senior Editor of the Notre Dame Journal of Law, Ethics & Public Policy. Nick earned bachelor’s degrees in political science and history from Case Western Reserve University.
Semaj studies at Southern University Law Center, where she is the Associate Editor of the Journal of Intellectual Property, Technology, and Law. Semaj is also a recipient of the CALI Awards for Excellence Legal for Analysis & Writing I & II and Legal Research and is a member of the Board of Student Advisors for Civil Law Property, Basic Civil Procedure, Criminal Procedure, and Evidence. She earned a bachelor’s degree in environmental science from the University of Maryland Eastern Shore.
Bennett is enrolled at the Loyola University of New Orleans College of Law, where he is the Loyola Law Review Casenote & Comment Editor and recipient of the Ignatian Scholarship. Bennet is a member of Moot Court and Phi Delta Phi; he has received the Asterisk Award for the highest grade in a class for Obligations I, Federal Code of Civil Procedure, and Obligations II. He earned a bachelor’s degree in public policy leadership from the University of Mississippi.
Amber attends the University of Houston Law Center. She is a member of the Strategic Opportunity & Engagement Committee, the Muslim Legal Student Association, and the Student Bar Association. Amber earned a bachelor’s degree in international relations and global studies from the University of Texas at Austin.
Patrick studies at Louisiana State University’s Paul M. Hebert Law Center, where he was elected President of the LSU Law Board of Advocates. He is a recipient of the Dean’s Merit Scholarship and the Class of 1975 Scholarship; he is the Senior Editor for the LSU Law Journal for Social Justice and Policy. Patrick attended a school-sponsored study abroad at Jean Moulin University Lyon III in France. He earned a bachelor’s degree in political science from Centenary College.
Tevin is enrolled at Loyola University New Orleans College of Law, where he is a member of the Loyola Maritime Law Journal. Tevin is a recipient of the Ignatian Scholarship and a member of the Business and Technology Law Society and the International Law Society. He earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Southeastern University.
Caroline studies at Louisiana State University’s Paul M. Hebert Law Center, where she is the Director of Internal Trial Competitions for the Board of Advocates. She is a recipient of the Dean’s Scholarship and a member of the LSU Law Board of Advocates, the Women Law Students Association, and the LSU Law Athletic Committee. Caroline earned a bachelor’s degree in neuroscience from Rhodes College.
Kayleigh attends the University of Florida Levin College of Law. Kayleigh is a member of the American Bar Association Forum on Entertainment and Sports Industries, John Marshall Bar Association, and Entertainment and Sports Law Society as well as Entertainment Law Committee & Section Representative. She earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Florida Warrington College of Business.
Since 2012, McGlinchey has participated in the 1L LCLD Scholarship program, a growing organization of more than 320 corporate chief legal officers and law firm managing partners. Reflecting the firm’s commitment to fostering and maintaining a diverse and inclusive workplace and to promoting diversity within the legal profession, McGlinchey has been honored as a Law Firm “Top Performer” by the LCLD for five years, and the firm has twice received the LCLD’s highest recognition, the Compass Award.
