“We are excited to welcome Michelle to the firm’s national team of regulatory attorneys,” said Mark Edelman, chair of McGlinchey’s consumer financial services compliance practice. “Her particular experience in residential mortgage, construction lending, and vendor management will be a valuable asset to our financial services clients nationwide.”

Prior to joining McGlinchey, she served as Vice President and Associate General Counsel at TIAA Bank.

She has experience advising clients from across the wide spectrum of consumer financial services on issues related to the Truth in Lending Act (TILA), Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act (RESPA), and the Fair Credit Report Act (FCRA), as well as construction-to-permanent residential mortgage lending and flood insurance regulation. She also has a deep understanding of privacy law and information security concerns, and has drafted and negotiated a wide variety of vendor agreements, including major technology contracts.
Before her role at TIAA Bank, Michelle practiced as an associate at Weiner Brodsky Sidman Kider and a pro bono attorney at Jacksonville Area Legal Aid. She received a law degree, cum laude, from George Mason University School of Law, and holds a bachelors degree, magna cum laude, from Florida State University.
“We work with many in-house legal departments at financial institutions, and Michelle’s compliance focus will nicely complement the litigation services we’ve historically offered here in Jacksonville,” said Kim Israel, Co-Managing Member of the Jacksonville office.
“I know Michelle’s experience in-house and first-hand understanding of what keeps our clients up at night will be really appreciated,” said Will Grimsley, Co-Managing Member of the Jacksonville office.
