McGlinchey’s Drabnis, Patty named to AIPLA Leadership
Read Time: 2 minsMcGlinchey Stafford is proud to announce the appointment of Drew Patty and Mary Drabnis, Ph.D., members of the firm’s Baton Rouge office, to leadership positions in the American Intellectual Property Law Association (AIPLA).
Drew Patty has been named Chair of AIPLA’s Chemical Practice Committee, and Mary Drabnis has been named Chair of AIPLA’s Patent Cooperation Treaty Issues Committee. These appointments are for two-year terms. Mary and Drew each have served two-year terms as Vice-Chair of their respective committees.
A graduate of Tulane University and The University of North Carolina School of Law, Drew has 25 years of experience in the practice of patent, trademark, and copyright law and litigation. He chairs McGlinchey’s Intellectual Property practice group. Mary graduated from Rutgers University with a bachelor’s degree, earned her doctorate in Chemistry from the University of Southern California, and obtained her law degree from Louisiana State University while practicing as a patent agent. She has 20 years of experience as a patent attorney and 22 years of experience when her experience as a patent agent is included. While practicing together for more than two decades, they have managed thousands of foreign and domestic patent applications for inventors, universities, and companies, with special emphasis on the specialty chemical and oil field service industries.
AIPLA is the leading national bar association dedicated exclusively to intellectual property professionals, constituted primarily of lawyers in private and corporate practice, in government service, and in the academic community. McGlinchey was a proud sponsor of AIPLA’s 2020 virtual annual meeting which took place October 19 – October 30, during which committee leadership was sworn in.
