Read Time: 2 minsMcGlinchey Stafford is pleased to announce that the New Orleans office has been recognized among the 2024 Empowering Women honorees by New Orleans CityBusiness. This prestigious honor celebrates the firm’s ongoing commitment to fostering an inclusive environment where women can thrive professionally and personally. McGlinchey’s Boston office received analogous recognition earlier this summer.
“We are deeply honored to receive this recognition on behalf of our firm and its efforts towards including, supporting, and recognizing leadership potential of women,” said Mag Bickford, Managing Member of McGlinchey’s New Orleans office. “This firm’s legacy of supporting and empowering diverse populations was a major factor in my decision to join McGlinchey years ago. We believe that when women succeed, our entire firm and community benefit. This honor is a reflection of our unwavering commitment to fostering an environment where women are encouraged to grow, lead, and achieve their highest potential.”
The Empowering Women award is given to organizations that have demonstrated a strong commitment to promoting the advancement of women through mentoring, leadership development, and supportive workplace practices. McGlinchey Stafford’s New Orleans office has been recognized for its efforts to create a culture that not only supports women in the legal profession but also empowers them to lead and succeed.
“At McGlinchey, diversity and inclusion are not just goals—they are core values that drive our success,” said Eliska Plunkett, McGlinchey Stafford’s Chief Diversity Officer and Human Resources Director. “Our firm has invested its time and talent in creating a workplace where all employees can excel. This recognition is a testament to our collective efforts to champion gender equality and empower the next generation of diverse leaders who represent our firm, clients, communities, and clients.”
McGlinchey’s commitment to empowering women is reflected in its comprehensive initiatives, from the #McGlincheyForward program launched in 2021 to its ongoing commitment to the rigorous Mansfield Certification process. The firm’s women’s initiative, Uplift, was relaunched in 2021 as a home for McGlinchey’s women attorneys to convene, engage, empower, and advocate for each other in their work, in leadership, in their communities, and across the legal profession.
“We learned many lessons about flexibility and collaboration from Covid,” Eliska Plunkett said. “We know that women in our culture often continue to shoulder the majority of care when it comes to family members of all ages and domestic management. We’re proud to have incorporated as many pivots as possible into our policies and operations to allow our people the flexibility to present their authentic selves and do their best work. We’ve seen benefits in our culture and our work product because of it.”
McGlinchey ranked #37 on the Women in Law scorecard on The American Lawyer’s 2024 Diversity Scorecards. McGlinchey was also named among many AmLaw 100 and 200 firms in Vault’s 2025 rankings for Diversity in Law Firms, based on input from the firm’s Associates, including #26 in Overall Diversity.
The firm is proud to support programs such as the Wellness Works employee wellness initiative, the SOS team, which allows for decentralized support across our national footprint to decrease the stress and urgency of last-minute or unexpected duties, and the Ministry of Fun, which promotes camaraderie and connectivity.
