New York Gov. Cuomo faces impeachment calls over alleged COVID cover-up
Read Time: 1 minMember and Co-Chair of the Government and Internal Investigations team Bob Driscoll (Washington) appeared on “FOX Business Tonight” discussing the potential obstruction of justice case against New York Governor Andrew Cuomo regarding Coronavirus deaths in nursing homes.
“Usually, it’s very hard to prove what someone’s intent is, and you’d say, ‘well it’s taking me a long time to collect the documents’ or ‘I’m not sure I have the information.’ But in this case, the Governor’s top aide, the secretary to the Governor, has said that essentially they were trying to obstruct the Dept. of Justice’s investigation to make sure that it wouldn’t be ‘used against them.’ But that’s what any investigation does, is to look at things that may have gone wrong in a particular area.”
“There’s still a long way to go. There hasn’t even been an indictment yet, or anything like that. The FBI just has opened a file. But it’s certainly serious enough that there are going to be some people close to the Governor who have got to lawyer up and start talking to counsel and be ready to be interviewed by the FBI.”
