Powered by Local Legal Talent, McGlinchey Opens Tampa Office
Read Time: 2 minsMcGlinchey Stafford is pleased to announce the opening of its office in Tampa. This will be McGlinchey’s 18th national office and third in Florida, including Fort Lauderdale and Jacksonville.
“In the past, we expanded by targeting cities that made the next great addition to our letterhead. That was a good strategy for us at that time, but now our approach is driven by attracting talent across a national scale,” said Michael Ferachi, the firm’s Managing Member. “We found some very talented attorneys to add to our team who happened to be located in Tampa. By opening this new office, we are excited to continue building our team to provide excellent legal services in Tampa and beyond.”
Two attorneys resident in Tampa, Edmund Whitson (Member) and Chantel Wonder (Of Counsel), joined McGlinchey in 2023. Also joining the Tampa office are Member Chase Stoecker, who has practiced with McGlinchey in Florida since 2017, and Associate Nicholas O’Conner, who joined McGlinchey’s Houston office in 2020, along with legal secretaries Dana Beauchamp and Onelja Shehaj.
“We are excited to expand McGlinchey’s presence in Florida with the opening of an office in Tampa,” said Will Grimsley, Managing Member of the Tampa office and a past Managing Member of McGlinchey’s Jacksonville and Fort Lauderdale offices. “We offer a broad foundation of litigation and transactional services across the firm’s footprint. The addition of the Tampa market positions the firm to build out those capabilities in Florida in areas such as corporate/real estate, construction, and maritime, to name a few.”
The current attorneys in McGlinchey’s Tampa office primarily counsel clients from the financial services, insurance, real estate, labor and employment, and construction industries in matters related to litigation and preserving creditors’ rights. The firm’s hiring priorities for the office include adding attorneys to build on the existing practice areas in Florida and diversifying the office with attorneys that strategically complement other practice areas offered across the firm’s footprint.
Driven by client demand, McGlinchey opened its first office in Jacksonville in 2010, followed by the Fort Lauderdale office in 2011. The firm now has 16 attorneys licensed in Florida, 12 of whom live and practice within the state. Kerry Cummings was named Managing Member of the Fort Lauderdale office in April. The Jacksonville office is led by Managing Member Kim Israel.
Founded in New Orleans in 1974, McGlinchey now has offices in all four corners of the country across 12 states and Washington, DC. Its 160 attorneys are licensed in 34 U.S. states, districts, and territories. Learn more about McGlinchey’s national footprint here.
