Robinhood’s CEO Receives Mixed Reviews For Congressional Testimony About App’s Role In GameStop Saga
Read Time: 1 minMember and Co-Chair of the Government and Internal Investigations team Bob Driscoll (Washington) was quoted in a Forbes piece on February 19, 2021, discussing Robinhood CEO Vladimir Tenev’s testimony before the House Financial Services Committee regarding the company’s role in the recent GameStop stock controversy.
Driscoll thought Tenev delivered a good opening statement, had an excellent demeanor when responding to the first round of questions, and was appropriately respectful. “He seemed well-prepped,” Driscoll observed.
The hearing was a “… way more substantive discussion of the issues than many hearings,” Driscoll said. “Industry insiders can parse where regulation may go and decide who benefits, but big picture, [it was a] good day for RobinHood and the other panelists because what came across was that there is a complex regulatory environment being managed, not that there is some kind of corrupt scheme.”
