What I’ve Learned
Read Time: 1 minChristine Lipsey profiled in The Baton Rouge Lawyer‘s “Tribute to Women in Legal Leadership”
McGlinchey’s General Counsel and Member Christine Lipsey was featured in the November/ December 2020 issue of The Baton Rouge Lawyer, the Baton Rouge Bar Association’s magazine. The issue’s theme was “A Tribute to Women in Legal Leadership and the 100th Anniversary of the 19th Amendment.” Christine was one of seven Baton Rouge attorneys profiled.
Gender bias wasn’t part of the vocabulary when I started practicing in 1982, and the concept isn’t something I gave much thought to. I do remember instances with two judges, however, who were rather condescending. I attributed one to his being from a different generation and the other to his being a deeply grumpy person. I considered neither to be my problem.
[What I find most satisfying about my career is] the creativity – the opportunity to evaluate an issue and to design an approach or possible solution.
