Allen Katz has tried more than 100 jury trials to verdict. He has represented individual and commercial clients in both state and federal courts in Florida. With an extensive background in complex litigation, Allen represents clients in the areas of commercial litigation, consumer financial services litigation, creditors’ rights, real estate litigation, insurance disputes, taxation, licensing, and regulatory issues. His experience in accounting, business, and regulatory matters assists in his representation of clients in all phases of the litigation process.
Allen has extensive experience in cases involving complex consumer and commercial finance litigation, including those involving counterclaims or non-routine matters, such as Quiet Title claims, alleged violations of consumer protection statutes, origination fraud, straw purchases, and state and federal claims brought against clients. He has advised on matters involving the Truth in Lending Act (TILA), Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act (RESPA), Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA), and Florida Consumer Collection Practices Act (FCCPA), among others. He also represents clients in appellate matters.
Allen has acted as arbitrator in more than 75 alternative dispute proceedings on behalf of the National Arbitration Forum.
