Bailee Curtis is a litigator and trial attorney who represents clients in financial services and complex business and commercial litigation. Her practice includes defending lenders and financial institutions against claims arising under federal and state consumer protection statutes such as the Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act (RESPA), Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA), Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), Truth in Lending Act (TILA), and the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA). Bailee also represents clients in connection with contract disputes and business torts such as interference with business and contractual relations.
Bailee brings previous experience handling disputes in the insurance and medical malpractice context, where she handled matters from initial assignment to disposition through court orders and settlement negotiations. Bailee has tried several bench trials in Alabama State Court, argued dispositive and non-dispositive motions, taken and defended depositions, and provided support for expert witness depositions. In the appellate context, Bailee has prepared briefs, one of which resulted in a published opinion by the Alabama Supreme Court.
