When clients find themselves facing a major issue, they need a lawyer they can trust who can keep everyone calm. As a former U.S. Attorney with almost 20 years of experience in investigations, crisis management, and enforcement actions, I know how to bring the temperature down, distill the relevant facts, and advise on the law with shrewd judgement and poise. I’m accustomed to high-stakes scenarios and understand the government’s position to advise clients accordingly, no matter the context.
Brandon Brown advises businesses and individuals in government investigations and white collar matters. He also counsels federal, state, and private companies in labor and employment investigations and litigation. His background as a prosecutor provides him a strategic edge and perspective in defending client interests before the government and in court. From small, local businesses to large, multi-national enterprises, Brandon has the reliable experience necessary to protect clients’ businesses and reputations.
With a focus on matters across Louisiana, Texas, and Washington, DC, Brandon represents clients in government, education, banking, healthcare, and other industries. Whether defending clients in investigations involving fraud, waste, or abuse, claims involving consumer protection, or criminal charges such as wire fraud or tax fraud, Brandon handles each matter with finesse. His deep network of and rapport with state and federal regulators benefits his clients in addressing matters expeditiously and effectively.
As strategic counsel to employers, Brandon advises management in internal investigations to assess employment and operational policies as well as regulatory compliance programs in light of present or potential government scrutiny. He also represents public and private employers and insurers in actions brought by employees and unions, ranging from charges of discrimination and contract disputes to workplace accidents and wrongful termination.
A proud career public servant before joining McGlinchey in private practice, Brandon served as United States Attorney for the Western District of Louisiana, overseeing all investigations and litigation for criminal and civil cases in 42 of the state’s 64 parishes. As chief federal law enforcement officer in the district, he oversaw matters involving public corruption, financial and healthcare fraud, organized crime, whistleblower actions, narcotic trafficking, violent crime, and civil rights violations. Moreover, as one of 93 U.S. Attorneys, he was one of 13 appointed to the Attorney General’s Advisory Committee (AGAC), a select group of U.S. Attorneys tasked with advising the Attorney General on policy. He served on the AGAC’s white collar, violent crime, and civil rights subcommittees.
Prior to being confirmed as United States Attorney, Brandon served for nearly 9 years as an Assistant United States Attorney in the Western District of Louisiana, where he supervised hundreds of prosecutions. There, he led the district’s Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force (OCDETF), Project Safe Neighborhood (PSN), and violent crime programs. Before joining the U.S. Attorney’s office, Brandon served as an Assistant District Attorney for Ouachita Parish, so his prosecutorial and trial experience spans state and federal courts.
