I was raised in part by my grandfather, who was an attorney. From a young age, he took me to court with him, and I was inspired by the impact he had on his clients’ lives. Since then, I always appreciated the power attorneys have to make positive changes in the lives of others. I keep that with me when I advocate for my clients.
Christopher Lapidus is an Associate in McGlinchey’s Commercial Litigation practice group. Based in our Irvine offices, Chris’s practice is divided into three general categories: business and commercial litigation, real estate litigation, and insurance coverage disputes. His business and commercial litigation practice spans a wide range of topics, including breach of contract disputes, fraud actions, business torts, unfair business practices, accounting claims, partnership/dissolution disputes, and breaches of fiduciary duties.
In connection with his real estate practice, Chris has handled trespass and nuisance suits, neighbor disputes, inverse condemnations, homeowner’s association matters, municipal code violations, and construction defects. He also has handled numerous declaratory relief actions to void insurance coverage based on the noncooperation of the insured.
Chris typically represents small and midsized clients and handles all phases of litigation, including filing initial and responsive pleadings, discovery, drafting and opposing substantive and dispositive motions, trials, and everything in between. Prior to joining McGlinchey, he practiced in a small, boutique litigation firm in Beverly Hills, California, which provided him with an enormous amount of invaluable hands-on litigation experience.
Coming from a family tradition of legal practice, Chris treats each case as unique, and as if it were his own or a family member’s. The result is zealous, aggressive, advocacy and typically, outstanding results. More specifically, this means staying on top of deadlines, candid and frequent client communication, considering all sides of an issue before proceeding with an argument, close attention to detail when drafting pleadings and motions, and always going the extra mile.
As a practitioner, writing is one of Chris’s strong suits. Beginning in law school, he made developing skills as a writer a priority, and he excels at clearly and effectively communicating his client’s positions. Combined with his attention to detail and interpersonal skills, he is an aggressive, effective advocate.
