As a transactional attorney, I enjoy translating what the law says into what the client needs to achieve their goals. Helping businesses access the capital they need to grow their business or hire more people is what motivates me as a lawyer.
Mary Margaret Peebles is an Associate in the firm’s Baton Rouge office in the Corporate and M&A and Commercial Finance practice groups. Mary Margaret’s clients include small businesses, corporations, insurance companies, and ancillary product providers. Her practice includes corporate and insurance law. She advises clients in connection with revolving and term loan facilities, construction loans, letter of credit facilities, and restructurings. She handles matters spanning the United States and is admitted to the practice of law in Louisiana and Georgia.
Mary Margaret has experience with transactions big and small for clients ranging from regional entities to multi-national financial institutions, and everything in between. She is especially proud of a large transaction involving two regional telecommunications companies that combined her skills in mergers with corporate finance, because it made a difference in providing communications access and jobs in communities across South Louisiana. Mary Margaret particularly enjoys when a client is interested in launching a new product or service, and advising them on state compliance issues. A love of research drew her to the law, and she enjoys developing innovative strategies to help businesses meet their financial goals.
Mary Margaret served for two years as law clerk to the Honorable Shelly D. Dick with the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Louisiana. Having the “umpire’s perspective” on the interpretation and application of the law makes her a more effective advocate for her clients.
