Patrick Riley supports clients in a wide range of commercial and appellate litigation. With matters in state and federal courts ranging from contractual disputes, governmental defense, and employment litigation, Patrick takes a proactive approach to handling each case providing representation tailored to the client’s goals and circumstances.
With diverse experience spanning executive, legislative, judicial, and regulatory arenas, Patrick evaluates matters from multiple perspectives to advise clients on the options available to them and the implications of each.
Prior to law school, Patrick held the prestigious Louisiana Governor’s Fellowship in the summer of 2020, supporting Governor John Bel Edwards in ensuring agency cohesion and compliance with Covid-19 directives. This included assessing and implementing directives from the White House and presenting research and policy recommendations directly to the Governor. He has helped craft policy and legislation for stakeholders and elected officials of all affiliations.
Patrick also served as a staffer for the U.S. Attorney’s Office in the Western District of Louisiana and Judicial Extern for Hon. Christopher Hester of Louisiana’s First Circuit Court of Appeals. At LSU Law Center, he was selected based on course performance to serve as Tutor for the Law of Obligations class and elected by his peers as the President of the LSU Law Board of Advocates.
As a former collegiate and semi-professional athlete, Patrick is comfortable in high-pressure situations and thrives on providing resolutions to clients when they need it most. Advising clients on options and strategies to reach an outcome that protects their specific interests is what he finds most rewarding.
