As a former college baseball player, mixed-martial artist, and boxer, my athletic competitive drive made for a natural transition to litigation and dispute resolution. I take pride in seeing the forest through the trees and thrive on the intellectual chess match associated with oral and written advocacy.
Richard Anderson maintains a broad civil litigation practice primarily representing clients from the construction, insurance, real estate, and financial services industries. His work spans general commercial and civil litigation with an emphasis on construction litigation, insurance commercial litigation, employment litigation, and all manner of negligence theories.
In his construction practice, Richard focuses on issues spanning lien and bond law, construction defect, sophisticated contractual disputes, and contract drafting. He also handles cases related to first-party property insurance defense, premises liability, and various commercial disputes. He litigates cases at all stages from inception through execution in both state and federal court and has a track record of obtaining favorable dispositive rulings.
With prior experience in various roles in the construction and oil and gas industries before pivoting to a legal career, Richard leverages his diverse background to find creative solutions at the greatest benefit and lowest cost to clients.
While still in law school, Richard appeared pro se in an interlocutory appeal on a Florida Constitutional issue in which he wrote appellate and reply briefs, performed oral arguments before Florida’s Second District Court of Appeal, and obtained a reversal of a lower court’s ruling.
