I pride myself on honesty and incorporate the highest ethical standards into every interaction with a client or colleague. Although my approach to matters is always shaped by practicality, I also embrace creative thinking and look for unexpected and innovative solutions. As the consumer finance landscape continues to evolve, from data privacy to state level regulation, I keep an eye out for new developments and novel ways we can help clients efficiently address emerging issues.
Taylor Bennington works on resolving consumer financial services and business banking compliance issues that arise for consumer finance companies nationwide. He helps clients including depository institutions, mortgage companies, sales finance companies, FinTechs and their partners, and payments companies overcome complex regulatory challenges to achieve their goals while adhering to both state and federal regulations.
Taylor clerked as a Summer Associate in McGlinchey’s Cleveland office for two summers and received the firm’s 1L Leadership Council on Legal Diversity (LCLD) Scholarship before joining the firm full-time. He served two terms as student body president of the University of Akron, and was subsequently appointed by the governor of Ohio as one of two student representatives on the university’s Board of Trustees. In this capacity, Taylor worked alongside CEOs and other business leaders to implement numerous campus-wide initiatives. He is particularly proud of improvements made in racial and LGBTQ+ equity, as well as efforts towards sustainability and renewable energy on campus.
