McGlinchey Stafford Featured in 2005 Top 20 Best Places to Work
Read Time: 1 minNew Orleans – This year, the New Orleans CityBusiness added a twist to the employee survey they ordinarily use to determine which 20 companies should receive the “Best Places to Work” award. Post-Katrina, the CityBusiness presented the behooving question to employees in their new survey: “To what degree did employers step up during and after Katrina to help their employees?” They also asked each company to send in Hurricane Katrina stories.
One reason that McGlinchey Stafford was chosen as a "Best Place to Work" was because of its drive to secure housing and office space for its employees during and immediately after the storm. The firm also raised over $50,000 in a disaster-relief fund for severely impacted employees. The employees that were unharmed in several of the firm’s branch offices opened their homes and families to take in those fleeing the storm. The firm also enabled several employees to commute from their homes to the Baton Rouge office by providing a mileage allowance. McGlinchey Stafford continues to prove everyday that it is one of the best places to work by doing all that is necessary to ensure its employees are as comfortable as possible during the recovery from the storm.
