Defended the owner of a $248-million hotel and casino resort from construction-related claims in Baton Rouge.
Represented the owner in construction-related litigation arising from the construction of a $248-million hotel and casino resort in Baton Rouge. Numerous liens and lawsuits were filed against the owner by the general contractor and multiple subcontractors in state and federal court. At issues were claims for additional payment by subcontractors, lien claims, warranty claims, breach of contract claims, acceleration claims, and defective construction claims. We defended all suits and successfully obtained a global settlement of all construction issues arising from the project, which included the removal of all liens and dismissal of all litigation.
