Represented a government contractor in multidistrict litigation alleging formaldehyde exposure
Represented a government contractor in multidistrict litigation, where the 3,601 named plaintiffs in the 31 putative class actions sought damages against numerous defendants for alleged formaldehyde exposure as a result of residing in emergency housing units provided by FEMA in Louisiana, Mississippi, Texas, and Alabama after Hurricanes Katrina and Rita. Numerous jurisdictional and other motions filed on behalf of the client resulted in the dismissal of the class action claims against the client prior to the 2008 class certification hearing. The matter proceeded as a mass action in which the majority of cases were dismissed against the client and the remaining claims settled.
