Helping business owners think through and understand complex business and tax concepts gives me a sense of pride. My tax background affords me a unique perspective on issues ranging from entity formation and financing to mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures. I address technical matters and issues to provide my clients with insights they otherwise may not consider. In particular, I enjoy collaborating with clients to guide them through the effects that various decisions throughout the company’s lifecycle may have on the business and its owners. I’m tenacious and goal-oriented, and clients appreciate that I will efficiently and effectively pursue the solution that works best for them.
Casey O’Flynn is an Associate in our New Orleans office practicing business/corporate law. He has a diverse practice representing businesses and business owners from a wide range of industries in matters including mergers and acquisitions, taxation, general corporate and business governance, and estate planning and successions. Casey has particular interest and experience in structuring acquisition and divesture transactions involving corporate entities and REITS, as well as partnerships, limited liability companies, and other pass-through entities, and he possesses a deep knowledge of their associated tax, accounting, economic, and regulatory issues.
In a previous role with a Big Four accounting firm, Casey advised large private equity and REIT clients through complex transactional and tax strategies, including the formation of acquisition vehicles and various debt and equity structures. Focusing on entity structuring and partnership taxation, Casey built a valuable skill set in domestic and international buy-side transactional advising.
This experience further provided him a comprehensive understanding of the full spectrum of the “deal life cycle,” through completion of the tax return. This work affords him a holistic perspective on how a given operating agreement provision or financial decision can pave the way for success in day-to-day operations.
Casey has substantial experience in structuring and executing commercial real estate mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures involving publicly and privately held companies and REITs, as well as national and regional developers, and other companies that finance, own, manage and develop real estate and other assets.
