McGlinchey’s Urness selected for Law360 Cannabis Editorial Board
Read Time: 2 minsMcGlinchey Stafford attorney Heidi Urness is one of 12 attorneys selected for the 2023 Cannabis Editorial Board by Law360. Resident in Seattle, Heidi serves as Chair of the firm’s national Cannabis practice.

Members of the Editorial Board applied to be considered for the advisory group. The Board’s purpose is to give “expert insight on how best to shape future coverage” and to provide reporters with a pool of potential sources. The group will convene in early May for its annual editorial planning discussion.
Heidi was named one of the “30 Powerful Cannabis Litigators You Should Know” by mgMagazine and has been repeatedly recognized as a “Global Top 200 Cannabis Lawyers” by Cannabis Law Report & Cannabis Law Journal. She is an early member of the Washington State Bar Association’s Cannabis Law Section, and was appointed to the Editorial Advisory Committee of the Washington State Bar Association (WSBA) in 2018. Heidi has been quoted in High Times and Bloomberg Law, and is a regular contributor to the nation’s premier legal and industry-facing publications, including Marijuana Venture, Federation of Regulatory Counsel, and the Cannabis Law Journal. She speaks nationwide at both traditional and cannabis-industry conferences and events on the current issues affecting traditional, ancillary, and licensed businesses in the marijuana, hemp, and cannabinoid spaces, and offers CLEs to educate other attorneys on these areas nationally.
Heidi represents a wide range of licensees, ancillary companies, product manufacturers and distributors, investors and financiers, insurance companies, equipment producers, real property holders, and more in matters ranging from corporate formation and disputes, complex contracts, and operational and regulatory compliance to access to capital and funding, product development, state and federal issues related to advertising and marketing, and intellectual property. She also represents these clients in litigation when the need arises. Heidi has served as the owner and Managing Attorney of Heidi Urness, PLLC, and as Strategic Legal Counsel at Cultiva Law, where she leveraged her skills and insights to cultivate effective legal solutions across all stages of corporate development, operation, and litigation since the inception of the cannabis industry.
