Trademark Lawyer Tom Dunn Joins McGlinchey’s Corporate Team in Boston
Read Time: 2 minsMcGlinchey Stafford is pleased to announce that trademark and contracts attorney Thomas F. Dunn has joined the firm’s Boston office as a Member. With more than 25 years of experience in intellectual property and corporate law, Tom’s practice combines trademark and copyright matters with licensing and contracts for individual and business clients in numerous industries.
Tom is the second Member hire in the past year for McGlinchey’s Boston office – litigator Ben Lajoie joined in September. The office expanded with a new space in One Beacon Street in early 2023. Also in early 2023, McGlinchey grew its IP team when entertainment and IP attorney Hillel Frankel joined McGlinchey’s Nashville office. McGlinchey hired 50 attorneys firmwide in 2023.

Tom counsels clients related to their trademarks, copyrights, and related intellectual property matters. He has experience structuring partnerships, non-competes, non-disclosure agreements, software development contracts, and other IP-related matters. His clients span the banking, education, consumer goods, creative, and professional services industries. His experience also includes navigating intercompany agreements involving manufacturing, distribution, strategic alliance, e-commerce, and other commercial agreements.

In his trademark and copyright practice, Tom handles due diligence, conflict screenings, registration, application filings, renewal, maintenance, and pre-litigation issues. He also counsels clients on enforcement, settlements, and consent agreements related to artwork, design, logos, and other protectable assets. When litigation is inevitable, Tom represents clients in state and federal courts and before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board of the United States Patent and Trademark Offices.

Prior to joining McGlinchey, Tom practiced at several leading law firms in Boston. Licensed in Massachusetts, he earned his JD from Northeastern University School of Law. His professional experience prior to practicing law includes four years in the Marine Corps and seven years as an information technology manager at Harvard University.
